The British Pathe Archive is now available without charges to teachers and pupils through their RBC or Partner broadband connections. This arrangement, the first of its kind in the world, provides schools in the UK with access to 3,500 hours of high-quality digitised newsreel film covering events from the death of Victoria to the birth of Space travel. Follow the link above to access full help files and support materials.

British Pathe Archive has worked with the 10 Regional Broadband Consortia (RBCs) to provide access for schools to high-resolution versions of its digitised news film. 3,500 hours of film and 12,000,000 stills are now available in their high-resolution, editable versions to schools as they become connected through their RBC broadband connections to the National Education Network. All schools connected to the South East Grid for Learning may access these archives without further cost.

This arrangement, the first of its kind in the world, provides schools in the UK with access to 3,500 hours of high-quality digitised newsreel film covering events from the death of Victoria to the birth of Space travel.

NB. No password is required for the British Pathe site providing you access from a SEGfL connected school.
